As seen in the video, as the oncoming wave first make’s contact with the seawall (section without wave inverting cap) the wave crashes over the top of the seawall on to the property. As the same wave moves along the seawall and makes contact with the wave inverting cap, the wave is clearly deflected back into the intercoastal water, not allowing damaging over splash to occur.
